Requirements:
• 1-year current clinic experience - Required
• Valid Driver License Required
• BSN - Required (Master's Preferred)
• Multiple years of experience providing service to individuals with a severe and persistent mental illness required
• Iowa license (Compact Allowed)
• BLS (AHA)

Responsibilities:
• Under the direction of the team psychiatrist or ARNP and in collaboration with other registered nurses on the team develops, revises, and maintains psychopharmacologic, medical treatment, and medication policies and procedures.
• Takes a lead role in providing medication administration and nursing care.
• Administers evaluates and records psychotropic medications prescribed by team psychiatrist or ARNP.
• Evaluates and charts psychotropic medications' effectiveness, complications, and side effects.
• Arranges for required lab work according to protocol.
• Provides education to patients and family members on benefits and possible side effects of medications.
• Under the direction of the team psychiatrist or ARNP, and in collaboration with other registered nurses on the team, manages pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
• In collaboration with the team psychiatrist or ARNP coordinate, schedule, and administer medical assessments of client physical health, make appropriate referrals to community physicians for further assessment and treatment, and coordinate psychiatric treatment with medical treatment.
• Provides individual, couple, family, and group services in a community setting to teach patients behavioral symptom management as a means of coping with internal and external stressors.
• Functions as a practicing clinician on the team and provides service coordination (case management) for an assigned group of patients.
